Insurance premiums about to rise

As most people are no doubt aware, the current low-interest-rate environment and volatile economic climate continues to drive change within the Canadian insurance industry and, within Co-operators Life Insurance Company. I am providing you with advance notice of individual life portfolio rate adjustments that will take effect on September 15, 2012.

There has been a general move in the market to increase rates or to suspend sales of permanent products altogether.  I also suspect that Critical Illness will become more and more difficult to qualify for as more and more policies are being paid out in Canada.

The Co-operators will implement a graded increase to the current rates by age, which will range from 25 percent in the youngest age groups to 5 -10 percent in older age groups. There will be no change for some of the oldest age groups.  This rate increase will impact our Term and permanent Insurance products as well as our very popular Critical Illness Products.  There is no better time to make the decision to purchase these products as you will never be as young as you are today and I suggest taking advantage of the lower prices.

If you have been thinking that you should have this peace of mind product, I would be very happy to meet with you to complete an application prior to our scheduled increase.  I have organized our schedule for extended hours to accommodate client’s needs in this final week before the changes are implemented.

I am often asked why people should purchase life insurance or critical illness products:  you should have this valuable protection if you love someone or owe someone.  I ask business owners what would happen to their operations if they were to become ill and unable to work.  Critical Illness may be the solution to this problem providing cash to keep things running until they recover.

Please contact our office for more information, a quote or to arrange an appointment.
